Molto volentieri pubblichiamo  il  comunicato stampa di chiusura di un evento che Puntoroma.com  ha seguito con passione, il Codemotion 2012 a Roma . Il 23 e 24 marzo a Roma si è svolta la seconda edizione del Codemotion Roma. Il Codemotion è l’evento dedicato a tutti i linguaggi e tecnologie e raccoglie l’eredità del Javaday. Quest’anno, rispetto al passato, l’evento si è svolto su due giorni e con un’edizione contemporanea a Madrid.

Le due giornate hanno coinvolto complessivamente 3700 partecipanti, 1700 nella prima giornata del venerdì 23/3 e 2000 in quella del sabato 24/3. 2700 sono le persone che nel complesso sono entrate al Codemotion.

Oltre agli interventi tecnici, i partecipanti hanno potuto scegliere fra diverse iniziative: un hackathon, un panel sui nuovi trend, due laboratori sul mobile, un laboratorio per i bambini, un’area gaming e un evento sulle startup.

Gli interventi del programma tecnico sono stati oltre 80 distribuiti in parallele tematiche: Mobile, Innovation, Web, Gaming, Methods, Security/Hardware, Open, Languages e Enterprise.  Gli speaker hanno partecipato ad una call for paper pubblica e i talk sono stati selezionati con l’aiuto delle oltre 20 community, legate ai linguaggi e sviluppo software, che supportano il Codemotion.

L’evento ha coperto diverse tecnologie, framework e linguaggi. Quest’anno – oltre agli argomenti più classici e tradizionali – c’è stato spazio per parlare di crtittografia frattale in Perl ma anche di Erlang e Scala. La presenza di speaker  internazionali con talk in lingua inglese è stata rilevante, molti dei personaggi italiani più in vista delle varie comunità hanno partecipato con degli interventi. Si è passati dal retro spinto, come programmare il C64 per realizzare giochi (!), fino all’utilizzo di Webgl per creare i giochi browser based della nuova generazione. HTML 5, iOS ed Android sono stati fra gli argomenti più gettonati. Al Codemotion sono state anche curate in maniera particolare le tecnologie meno note al grande pubblico ma potenzialmente interessanti: Kotlin e Calabash hanno sorpreso la platea, anche grazie alla bravura dei relatori.

Per mettere mano in maniera pratica allo sviluppo di applicazioni mobili, si sono svolti due laboratori. Nel primo lab, a cura di Microsoft, i partecipanti hanno realizzato e imparato a migliorare applicazioni per Windows 8 e Windows Phone. Nel secondo lab, condotto da Samsung, è stata presentata sia la piattaforma di sviluppo Bada che le Samsung SMART TV e l’interoperabilità fra loro.

In collaborazione con WhyMCA, nella notte fra il 23 e 24 marzo, è stato organizzato un Hackathon. Sviluppatori, designer e semplici appassionati si sono misurati nella creazione di prototipi di giochi e applicazioni che interagiscono con le persone e oggetti della vita quotidiana. I migliori hack sono stati poi premiati da una  giuria e presentati al pubblico.

L’area gaming ha ospitato una decina di team di sviluppo indipendenti che hanno avuto modo di mostrare al pubblico di Codemotion i loro giochi ricevendo feedback di persona dai giocatori. Il confronto con le startup e con le aziende ha costituito un esperimento di networking molto utile e interessante. Nella parallela dedicata al gaming uno dei talk più apprezzati è stato quello di Stefano Gualeni su come la ricerca accademica e la filosofia influenzino il design e il gameplay, segno che l’interdisciplinarietà propria della materia appassioni anche gli hard-coder. La presenza del cabinato anni ‘80 del progetto Winnitron Italia è stata la ciliegina sulla torta che ha divertito ed emozionato i partecipanti con un tuffo nel passato.

Con il supporto di Mozilla è stato possibile dar vita ad un laboratorio per giovani adolescenti. L’intento è stato diffondere competenze e far capire quanto è importante imparare a scrivere codice e sviluppare software per prosperare nel fluttuante mondo digitale.

InnovactionLab ha organizzato un grande evento interamente dedicato alle startup. L’idea è stata quella di permettere alle startup di presentarsi agli sviluppatori per poter trovare personale da assumere e co-founder. Gli ospiti presenti: Gianluca Dettori e Niccolo Sanarico di dPixel, Giuseppe D’Antonio di CircleMe e naturalmente Augusto Coppola di Innovation Lab.
Con l’aiuto di Italian Founders è’ stato organizzato un panel sui nuovi trend per fare il punto sull’evoluzione e l’applicazione delle tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione nella vita di tutti i giorni. Hanno partecipato: Alfonso Mariconda (VP New Projects Development, Telecom Italia),  Guido Vetere, (Direttore del Center for Advanced Studies di Roma, Ibm), Paolo Merialdo (Professore associato, UniRoma3), Marco Zamperini (Chief Innovation Officer, Value Team) e naturalmente Nicola Mattina (Imprenditore, Italian Founders).

Il Codemotion è stato un’occasione preziosa per gli sponsor per parlare ad un’audience motivata di tecnici, manager e studenti. Tutti gli sponsor hanno potuto raccogliere i Curriculum Vitae dei partecipanti. Hanno partecipato: Samsung, Telecom Italia, Oracle, Red Hat, Microsoft, Mozilla, Nokia, Capgemini, Intel, Staer Sistemi, K-Tech, Sogetel, Wedjaa, Ymobe, Eni, KPMG, Dnsee, Extreama, Beeweb, Quanta, IBM.

Telecom Italia ha presentato il Contest Cabina Intelligente, rivolto a studenti universitari e sviluppatori con l’obiettivo di trovare idee innovative per ottenere una nuova user experience per chi utilizza i servizi e le funzionalità delle cabine nelle città del futuro.

Le community sono il cuore pulsante che tiene unite migliaia di sviluppatori. Sin dalla prima edizione hanno supportato l’organizzazione e la promozione del Codemotion. La facoltà di Ingegneria di Roma Tre ha da sempre ospitato la manifestazione. Lo svolgimento del Codemotion all’interno dell’università è un grande segnale di dialogo fra il mondo accademico, aziendale e tecnico. La scelta di svolgere l’evento all’interno dell’Università è anche una grande opportunità per coinvolgere gli studenti.

Con l’obiettivo di premiare l’impegno e il merito degli studenti, Codemotion in collaborazione con IBM e la Consulta di Ingegneria Informatica dell’Università Roma Tre fornirà tre borse di studio, del valore di 1000 euro ciascuna, a studenti di Roma Tre che.

La realizzazione del Codemotion è stata possibile grazie al contribuito di numerosi partner che hanno arricchito con la loro preziosa esperienza l’offerta dell’evento.
